Innovative Research & Academic Entrepreneurship Education – Lecture Presented by Dr. Yossi Matias (24.11.2025)

The event had the honor of hosting Dr. Yossi Matias, Vice President of Google and Head of Google Research, for a lecture dedicated to innovative research and entrepreneurship education in the academic environment. The presentation took place in the FSEGA Auditorium, in front of over 500 participants, including students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and representatives from companies and public institutions.
In his inspirational speech, Dr. Matias highlighted how innovation in artificial intelligence can transform society, open new perspectives in research, and redefine educational processes. A key point of the presentation was the importance of increasing AI literacy as an essential skill for students, educators, researchers, and professionals in both the public and private sectors.
Participants were impressed by the clarity with which Dr. Matias connected complex technical concepts to real-world societal challenges, turning each segment of the presentation into an open, honest, and highly relevant dialogue.

At the end, Dr. Yossi Matias shared a memorable message: if he could invest in only one thing, he would choose education, viewing it as the force capable of solving all other problems in the world. This message inspired the i-Lab community to look to the future with confidence, investing in people, knowledge, and education as the primary drivers of change and innovation.
