Business Modeling and Financing – Workshop led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexandra Muțiu as part of the i-Lab incubation program (06.11.2025)

On November 6, 2025, the i-Lab community continued its series of workshops for young entrepreneurs with Module 5: Business Modeling and Financing, held in the FSEGA Council Hall from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. The session was part of the video module “Start-up Financial Modeling” and provided participants with the tools needed to understand the challenges of entrepreneurial management and to develop sustainable financial models.
The workshop was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexandra Muțiu, Vice-Rector of Babeș-Bolyai University, who plays a strategic role in the university’s leadership and oversees areas such as Human Resources, Alumni Relations, Career Development, and Student Counseling. Dr. Muțiu is recognized for her exceptional expertise in teaching managerial accounting and controlling at the undergraduate, master’s, MBA, and executive education levels. With extensive teaching experience gained both at Babeș-Bolyai University and as a visiting professor at international universities, she employs the case study method to provide participants with practical, hands-on learning.
During the session, participants explored the challenges of entrepreneurial management, various financial business models, and how to create accurate budgets and financial forecasts for startups. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muțiu emphasized the importance of a success-oriented mindset as a crucial first step in building a solid business, combining theory with practical examples and case studies to facilitate the understanding of financial concepts applied in the entrepreneurial environment.
The workshop was conducted in a collaborative setting, where participants discussed financial models and budgets, analyzed real-world scenarios, and received constructive feedback on how to plan and implement their financial strategies for sustainable businesses.
