Intellectual Property – Workshop Delivered by Andrea Allocco within the i-Lab Incubation Program (19.11.2025)

The incubation program continued with a new module dedicated to one of the most important topics in an entrepreneur’s journey: intellectual property. The session aimed to clarify how creators can protect their work, as well as to present relevant examples of innovation protection in the professional environment.

The guest of the session, Andrea Allocco, General Director and Partner at Technology Reply, offered participants a truly uncommon perspective. With a solid career in building and supporting technology companies, as well as an extensive portfolio of investments in European start-ups, Andrea Allocco succeeded in clearly and accessibly explaining how intellectual property protection mechanisms work — from brand and design to software solutions and know-how.

In addition to her role in the corporate environment, she is actively involved in organizations such as Confindustria Romania and FPIAR, where she contributes to the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Participants benefited from her practical experience, as the presentation was enriched with real situations, examples from growing companies, and directly applicable recommendations.

The workshop focused on questions such as:

What does it actually mean to protect your creation?

When is it appropriate to seek legal protection?

What risks arise when intellectual property is not taken into account?

The discussions were interactive, and participants explored various scenarios in which a lack of protection could impact the growth of a business, as well as ways in which a well-protected idea can become a strategic asset.

Module 8 provided a clear perspective on the importance of intellectual property and emphasized the need for any start-up or creative initiative to have a protection strategy from the earliest stages of development.
